The Optimist Critical Illness Fund is used to provide funds to help Laclede County children and their families dealing with Critical Illnesses from birth to high school graduation.
So far, we've helped 14 families and provided over $10,500.
Typically, school counselors or health care professionals would make referrals to our program. The family would complete the Critical Illness Request form and once all the validations are completed, the family would be contacted by an Optimist member to receive funds.
At this time, the family would receive one $500 donation per year and could reapply for the funds after that.
